FQM-297: Control Analítico Ambiental, Bioquímico y Alimentario

The FQM-297 Research Group "Environmental, Biochemical and Food Analytical Control" was established in 1996 after the split of the Toxicological and Nutritional Analysis Research Group, which has been doing luminescence research for more than 30 years. The research group is dedicated to basic and applied research in analytical chemistry.
The team works on the development of new nanotechnology-based smart materials with analytical applications.

The main lines of research are the following:

- Nanomaterials with applications in analytical chemistry.

- Telecommunication tools for optical signal processing.

- Metabolomics studies against different pathologies.

- Establishment of new luminescent sensor phases for the measurement of contaminating species. Design of sensors.

- Advanced separative techniques for the characterisation of functional foods and bioactive compounds in plant and food matrices.
