SEJ-054: SWEEP. Studies on Wellbeing, Environment and Economic Policy
The research group SEJ-054: SWEEP. Studies on wellbeing, environment and economic policy SWEEP. Studies on Wellbeing, Environment and Economic Policy is made up of professors attached to the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Granada. Researchers from the University of Oviedo, the Memorial University of Newfoundland (Canada) and the University of Valencia also participate.
The areas of knowledge in which its activity is circumscribed are: public economy and public service companies; human development and welfare economics; political economy (local, regional and national); environmental economics; political behavior; management of municipal water services; public administration and education.
Its generic objectives and challenges are: data analysis and reporting in the field of social sciences (economics, sociology and politics); the efficiency analysis of public and private managers; the analysis of the evolution of productivity; the decision-making analysis of public and private managers; measuring people's well-being; the elaboration of social development indicators; advising public and private managers.
The main lines of research are the following:
- Business efficiency analysis (Benchmarking).
- Analysis of the economic situation and structure.
- Analysis of the complex decision-making process.
- Human development, empowerment and subjective well-being.
- Research on changes in productivity time.
- The reform of the teaching of economics.
- Cost-Benefit Analysis applied to environmental valuation.
- Tariff systems in water supply and purification systems in cities
