FQM-232: Food and Environmental Analysis (AnaMA)

The research group FQM-232 "Analysis in Food and Environment (AnaMA)" focuses its research activity on three main lines of action: (a) application of statistical treatments to the optimisation of analytical processes and improvement of the quality of the information obtained from multivariate experimental data, (b) development of strategies for the separation, fractionation and quantification of compounds of a lipidic nature for the authentication of foods (fundamentally those with a high fat content) through the application of instrumental analytical fingerprinting strategies and, (c) application of analytical techniques based on obtaining mineralogical, chemical, etc. information to the resolution of environmental problems.

The main lines of research of this group are:

- Chemical metrology, qualimetry and applied chemometrics.

- Strategies for separation, fractionation and quantification of lipid compounds and obtaining characteristic instrumental analytical fingerprints.

- Authenticity of food products containing olive oil and elaboration of certified olive oil reference materials.

- Environmental analysis.
