- Abstract: Single use sensor for the determination of nitrite in water, used to know in a quick, simple and economic way the presence or concentration of nitrite ions in water, without pre-treating the sample. It comprises a rectangular polyester layer, where lays a circular film that constitutes the active part of the sensor; its color change, from translucid to red-pruple, when the sensor is introduced in the sample, indicates the nitrite concentration by measuring its radiation absdorbance at 543nm wavelength. Its main used is for identifying and determining presence of nitrite in all type of waters. The sensor is an alternative to the conventional analysis methods.
