The problems of development are studied, with an emphasis on the institutional framework. Research currently being carried out includes theses relating to the role of education in development, taxation as a fundamental element of institutional quality and the state’s capacity to undertake development projects, and the production of an indicator of institutional quality relating to the latest trends in how development is conceptualised.
