Preserving the geological heritage of Andalusia: inventory and scientific analysis of endogenous rocky outcrops in the Baetica mountains

Study of the magmatic and metamorphic processes that have affected the Baetica mountains during their genesis (more than 200 million years ago) and through their Alpine evolution through to the present, with the aim of applying scientific, cultural and educational assessment of the main outcrops of igneous and metamorphic rocks in Andalusia. This assessment is contrasted by publishing the exceptional characteristics of these outcrops in national and international scientific journals, particularly those concerned with preserving and re-evaluating universal geological heritage, such as Geoheritage, and is aimed at preserving the outcrops of most interest in Andalusia to prevent their current and future destruction
