This group is also a member of the nationally-funded "Centro de Investigación Biomédica en Red en el área de Salud Mental" – CIBERSAM (Biological Research Centre Network for Mental Health). The latter is also linked to the Andalusian Unit for Mental Health Research of the Programa Integral de Salud Mental included in the Andalusian Health Service (SAS). The fields of research carried out by this research group are clinical, biological and environmental aspects of mental disorders from a holistic and interactive perspective. The knowledge realm on what the group is focused is that of psychiatry.
