Analysis of transposons using a technique that combines microdissection of chromosomes and amplification by PCR of two types of mobile elements, to find out the mode of intragenomic evolution of the paralogue copies of these elements and trace the phylogenetic relationship of these paralogue elements of a single gene. The chromosome location of the elements allows their evolutionary dynamics to be studied.
