Image representation models. Visual perception
Basic line of research that seeks to define an adequate representation of the image to detect changes in its geometric organization due to variations in the light intensity of surfaces, alterations in orientation or distance from the observer. We worked on the detection of features, understanding the initial stages of visual processing. Our scheme led to an interpretation of many of the results of psychophysical and neurophysiological research on primary vision and a proposal about the initial strategy of the visual path. We work on detection of points of attention, illusory shapes, detection of features in biomedical images or texture segregation.
