Today's High Performance Computing (HPC) systems offer great performance, but consume enormous amounts of electrical power. Taking into account that electricity consumption is one of the most important and uncontrollable operating costs of HPC systems, different investigations have shown that electricity consumption is a critical aspect for new generation HPC systems.
