TIC-233: Investigación en Ingeniería de Redes y Seguridad (NESG)
The research group TIC-233: Research in Network Engineering and Security NESG was born in 2012 within the Telematics Engineering area, of the Department of Signal Theory, Telematics and Communications of the University of Granada, and is made up of a multidisciplinary team of Physicists, Computer Engineers, Telecommunications Telecommunications Engineers and Jurists with extensive training and experience in the field of communication networks, telematic services and cybersecurity.
The main technological objectives of NESG can be specified in the following basic ones:
- Actively contribute to the improvement in the management and monitoring of network systems environments.
- Collaborate with the scientific community in strengthening the security of systems, networks and communications.
- Encourage the transfer of the results of the developments carried out to the business fabric for their effective application in real environments.
As the most outstanding indicators of the most recent R & D & I activity developed by NESG in the aforementioned lines of work, we can mention the more than a dozen research and transfer projects whose fields range from local to international, in addition of the publication of more than a hundred publications in magazines, books and national and international conferences.
His lines of research are the following:
- Detection and response to security incidents
- Ethical hacking and security audits
- Digital identity and blockchain applied to cyber security
- Machine learning and systems modeling applied to cybersecurity problems
- Analysis and legal regime of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence
- Forensic analysis
