TIC-221 Computational optimisation in communications and engineering

The group TIC-221: Computational Optimization in Communications and Engineering is formed by a group of multidisciplinary researchers from different areas of knowledge such as Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering in Electricity or Physics, from the Universities of Almería and Granada. This research group is attached to the Campus of International Agrifood Excellence, ceiA3.
Its solutions cover a wide range of real-world problems that range from the optimization of complex problems with advanced computing techniques to multi-objective evolutionary optimization, high-performance parallel computing, improved communications through VopIP, networks and computer security as well as problems related to renewable energies, such as energy saving, wind energy, smartgrids and improvement of energy quality. A line related to the methodological and technological aspects of teaching and conscious education through Mindfulness has also been included.

His lines of research are the following:
- Parallel computing. Optimization of real problems.
- Voice over IP.
- Energy savings and sustainability.
Methodological and technological aspects of teaching and conscious education through Mindfulness
- Quality of electrical energy and measurement of electrical energy. SmartGrids: Smart electrical grids.
