The research work of the Computer Architecture and Technology department at the University of Granada is carried out by the CASIP group, recognised as a competitive group by the Andalusian Regional Government. Together with the research projects directed by the teaching staff of the department, the members of the group also maintain numerous contacts with companies, fundamentally for development, innovation and consultancy work.

The scientific production of the department takes the form of the production of doctoral theses (from the beginning of 2005, 100% of the full time teaching staff are doctors), publications in magazines and international congresses of recognised prestige, and patents, some of them in industrial use.

The Social Council of the University of Granada awarded this department with the Research Group Prize, the group had especially distinguished itself by entering into contracts for research and other activities with companies and institutions (edition 2003).
