- Commercial simulator (WEST) useful for the design, calculation and operation of urban wastewater treatment plants. It is one of the main commercial simulation software on the market and one of the most used by both the scientific community and by engineers and operators of wastewater treatment plants around the world. It uses mathematical models that reliably represent real systems, obtaining valid predictions of the main variables of a wastewater treatment system. It allows evaluating complete wastewater treatment schemes, both in the water line and in the sludge line, being able to represent from systems as simple as activated sludge systems for the removal of organic matter, nitrogen and phosphorus to complete plants that include anaerobic digesters , membrane reactors, etc. The program has many tools that allow engineers and operators to experiment in a wide range of operating conditions, control the consequences of modifying these conditions, as well as conduct sensitivity studies on the process and compare multiple alternatives.
- Respirometers: We have two respirometric units, one supplied by the company SURCIS S.L. and another more sophisticated respirometer, capable of performing tests to obtain the Monod parameters for both autotrophic and heterotrophic bacteria in a much shorter time. The equipment is specially designed for the calibration of activated sludge models type ASM. They include all the necessary elements to carry out the activated sludge calibration experiments (reactors, tanks, substrate injectors, agitators, aerators, oxygen, pH and temperature probes, control cabinet, etc.).
