Environmental degradation, viticulture and soil geography
The processes of environmental degradation translate into the loss of soil fertility, the reduction of food production and a decrease in the income of the associated economic sectors. The misuse and abuse of soil resources results in their complete loss of functionality. Therefore, this line of research focuses on:
1. Soil resources in the Mediterranean and their associated processes (changes in use, abandonment, use of agrochemicals, etc.) as a key to understanding the processes of deterioration in agriculture and loss of rural population.
2. The case of vineyards, as a representative and traditional type of cultivation in Spain.
3. Soil mapping linked to: soil quality, erosion and water resources.
