Crystallography and structural determination using X-ray diffraction
Structural resolution of crystallised small-molecule compounds in our laboratory, as well biological macromolecules. In this last case, fundamental studies are carried out of the quality of crystal’s intimate structure and its relationship with the conditions for the crystals’ growth. As well as the conventional techniques, X-ray diffraction techniques are used, such as high-resolution diffraction, X-ray topography and cartography of the reciprocal space, which is used to characterise the content and distribution of defects in the network of crystals. For these studies the lines of light used differ from those at SOLEIL (Paris), EMBL-DESY (Hamburg) and ESRF (Grenoble)
