Conservation, restoration and functional re-organisation of the architectural heritage.
All the programmed interventions are a source of knowledge and must have an innovative and experimental nature. Restoration is a process of architectural transformation that can enrich the very life of the building. The building is modified according to the new demands on how it is to be used. But all of this depends on a series of values that are determined in the process of knowing the building. These modifications affect many facets – historical, formal, functional, constructive – but they must always preserve the architecture’s documentary value and, above all, safeguard that other value, which from our viewpoint as a research group, is the key to all restoration: the value of authenticity.
