The detailed study of the elements (structural and metamorphic) that record the deformation of the rocks, their geometry and their age together with the geophysical data of the earth's crust are enabling us to have an increasingly complete and accurate picture of the architecture and evolution of active orogenic zones at a geological scale (Alpine mountain ranges of the western Mediterranean and Antarctic Peninsula) and ancient zones (Iberian and Moroccan plateau, Anti-Atlas).
