RNM-269: Soil formation and degradation

The research group was created in 1995 and, since then, it has been headed by several researchers, bringing experience and knowledge.

Applied scientific research is one of the priority objectives of the group, through the exchange of experiences and works in subjects related to soil formation that are of use in remedying its degradation. One of the main lines of research is focussed on the study of different types of contamination, the total quantities of contaminants and their bioavailability, through the use of different types of toxicity tests. Some members of the group have specialised in this line in national and international laboratories.

The researchers that have made up and continue to make up part of the group have participated in various research projects related to environmental and agricultural aspects, as well as basic research.
