RNM-145: Geochemistry of endogenous and petrogenesis processes of igneous metamorphic rocks
The research group RNM-145: Geochemistry of endogenous processes and petrogenesis of igneous and metamorphic rocks was created in 1990 with the aim of bringing together the research lines of the different participants in the Department of Mineralogy and Petrology's Petrology and Geochemistry knowledge area. Its research activities are based on the petrology of both igneous and metamorphic rocks, and the geochemistry of both processes.
The main lines of research are as follows:
- Study of the kinetics of the partial melting process of cortical rocks, and the geochemistry of melts generated in orogens with tectonically thinned crusts.
- Petrological, geochemical and structural studies of the ultramafic rocks of Cerro del Almirez (Sierra Nevada).
- Petrological and geochemical studies.
