The objectives of this group are research into seismicity, seismotectonics and the seismic hazard of the Betics, as well as the geophysical study of various active volcanic areas.

The group has carried out numerous contracts for applied surface geophysical research and some in control and monitoring of seismic activity in large structures. Furthermore, it has built up a considerable instrumental infrastructure, of databases and analysis packets in the Andalusia Geophysics Institute
