Cognitive and cultural linguistics
Research into the mental lexicon developed by linguists and lexicographers in recent decades has led to the conclusion that the creation of discourse has its origin in both linguistic and ontological-practical forms of knowledge. Knowledge of the world and knowledge of language are intertwined in such as way that it is impossible to study linguistic facts without also involving empirical and cultural facts. The different cognitive currents attempt to study how these forms of knowledge are expressed and also how this influences the development and evolution of human language
