Archaeological excavations in Isturgi (Andújar, Jaén)
· The project “Roman Isturgi and its territory: the production of terra sigillata and its distribution” focuses on the site located in the ancient city of Isturgi (Los Villares de Andujar, Jaén), an important pottery complex in Roman times, which produced Hispanic terra sigillata, among other types of ceramics. This project has not only allowed an important chrono-typology to be made, but also an in-depth study of the structures of production and commercialisation of this pottery complex, which is an indispensable point of reference in ceramics studies.
