Childhood is a socially constructed category and as such is subject to the characteristics of each social group. It is a dynamic and fluid concept that moves between the biological and the cultural, with intra- and intercultural variations. However, despite the fact that it is a crucial stage for the social and biological reproduction of human groups, it has not enjoyed the interest of archaeological research.
