The research group was founded in 2003 with two main objectives:

-          To fill an important gap in the area of Arab and Islamic studies in Spain, where previously there were no research groups specialising in issues of teaching Arabic and Arab culture.

To disseminate and highlight knowledge of Arab and Islamic culture outside university spheres, and particularly among teachers and students of primary and secondary education
