The research group was formed in 1995 and sought to research two general topics in depth: the evaluation of educational programmes in the Andalusian context and the evaluation of educational research. From a highly multidisciplinary standpoint, the group combined academic vision with a practical focus, a university environment with a school one and an Andalusian with a Russian context.

The group’s specialist topics during the last eleven years have been intervention programmes in speech therapy, activity theory of the Moscow School, and pedagogic scientometrics.

This group has international contacts, which are especially close with eastern countries such as Russia, the Ukraine, Turkmenistan and Mongolia. Currently it has a bilateral agreement with the Centre for Science and Technology Studies (CWTS) of the University of Leiden (Holland).

The group is also a member of the “What it Works Network”, part of the “What Works Clearinghouse” (USA)
