HUM-473: Assessment of Sports Training and Biomedical Research in Sport

The research group was created in 1995 in the department of Physical and Sports Education with the aim of relating the medical assessment of athletes to their sports performance. The group is made up of health personnel (doctors, radiology and nursing technicians), and graduates and doctors in Physical education.

The group’s research activity has been recognised on many occasions by bodies such as the Royal Academy of Medicine of Granada and the General Savings Bank of Granada (Caja General de Ahorros y Monte de Piedad de Granada). Several studies have also been awarded National Research prizes by the mutual insurance society Mutualidad General Deportiva and prizes for Research in Sports Medicine by the University of Oviedo, as well as by the Andalusian Institute of Sport, among others.

The research group belongs to the Spanish Federation of Sports Medicine (FEMEDE), the Andalusian Society of Sports Medicine (SAMEDE), the International Society for the Advancement of Kinanthropometry (ISAK) and the European College of Sport Science (ECSS).
