The group was created in 1994 with the aim of promoting Slavic languages and cultures (Russian, Ukrainian, Czech).

Its main lines of research are:

•     Language and culture of Slavic languages.
•     Teaching Slavic languages.
•     Translation from Slavic languages into Spanish and Portuguese.
•     Paremiology of Slavic languages.
•     Paremiology of Slavic languages with Spanish and Portuguese.
•     History of the different Slavic countries.
•     Contrastive analysis of Slavic languages with other Romance languages (Spanish and Portuguese).
•     Slavic languages for specific purposes.
•     Literature of Slavic languages.
•     Analysis of political discourse in Slavic languages.
