HUM-363: Theory of Literature and its Applications

The “Theory of Literature and its Applications” research group of the University of Granada was legally formed in 1988, when it was included in the official announcement of grants for the consolidation of research groups made public by the Ministry of Education and Science (now called the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Business of the Andalusian Autonomous Government). But the group had already been working as such for years and was made up of lecturers from the university district of Granada who were involved with the subject of literary criticism and belonged to the Department of General Grammar and Literary Criticism. After the re-naming of areas, this was re-formed as the “Department of General Linguistics and Theory of Literature”. The group, which was later enlarged, was then formed with seven doctors and four graduates, who had already made their research known with doctoral theses, books, and articles in specialist journals and presentations at conferences and symposiums.
