The group began during the 1990/1991 academic year.

Its main objectives are:

-          Initial teacher training.

-          Permanent training.

-          Studying and training sports trainers.

The group also has a set protocol for analysing the teaching behaviours of trainers. The group also collaborates with the Spanish Olympic Committee on the Sports Performance Master’s Degree.
