New catalysts that allow these processes to be undertaken in organic media, and different strategies for covalently immobilising nitrogen-based ligands with a high affinity for Cu(I) on silica and silica-coated magnetite by way of aza-Michael additions to vinyl sulfones, a process that leads to new materials with and without magnetic properties that can be used in click chemistry, have been studied. It has also been shown that these reactions are much faster in the presence of microwave radiation
