The group tackles, within this line of research, the synthesis of compounds of value mainly in the three industrial areas of: pharmaceuticals, perfumery and agro-food. Synthetic processes are used, in many cases, with possible commercial value, using short synthetic sequences, and using starting products and economical reagents. Thus, perfume fixer, antioxidants and compounds with pharmacological activity have been prepared.

In parallel, the syntheses of molecules of great interest have been developed, especially for their powerful biological activity. These syntheses have a more academic character, and have been published in magazines relevant to the speciality.

Since its creation, the group has synthesised a high number of natural products, in many cases it is the first published synthesis, as well as other related products with marked biological activity.
