This line of research was initiated with the first doctoral thesis for which the research group was responsible. The thesis was on the behaviour of melatonin in febrile seizures and epilepsy in childhood, and intimately interwoven with the line of research into the pineal gland and melatonin, studying the endocrine basis of various neurological disorders.
