CTS-206: Basic and clinical oncology
This multidisciplinary group was formed in 1996 to investigate malignant tumour disease in its basic and clinical aspects with a distinctly translational approach to apply to clinical practice.
The epidemiology of malignant tumour diagnosis and treatment are the subject of attention from the group, especially:
- The bases of radiotherapy and clinical radiobiology.
- The study of growth and tumour progression.
- Research on environmental factors related to exposure to chemical pollutants with hormone activity (endocrine disruption) and physical agents (ionising and non-ionising radiation).
- The diagnosis of the tumour in its early stages and the subsequent development through radiological techniques and molecular imaging.
