CTS-130: Drug Research and Development (R&D Pharmaceuticals)

The Research Group CTS-130: Drug Research and Development was created in 1990, with the aim of studying the design and synthesis of new antitumour drugs that are more selective and therefore less toxic than those currently available in the clinic.

The members of the group work in two lines of research, which are focused on the search for new drugs with anti-tumour activity.

Its main lines of research are as follows:

- Design, synthesis and evaluation of the biological activity of HAS and CD44 inhibitors as anti-tumour compounds.

- Compounds with anti-tumour activity as choline kinase inhibitors.

- Design and synthesis of antitumour compounds with purine structure (and isosteres) linked to 6- or 7-membered heterocycles fused to benzene.
