Design of proteins with biotechnical applications
Directed or guided by the evolutionary information contained in sequence alignments. Work fundamentally carried out with the following proteins:
- Thioredoxin.
- Beta-lactamase: related to resistance to antibiotics.
- BMP: bone morphogenetic proteins are involved in the generation of bone which is of great biotechnological interest.
- Phytase: Applied to animal feed, it increases the bioavailability of phosphorus.
- 14-3-3 Proteins, involved in regulation.
