HUM-062 Discrimination, Genocide and Cultural Extermination (DIGEC): Women’s Writing on the Holocaust

The research group was formed in 2011 with the chief research aim of studying the Shoa (Jewish Holocaust), Genocide Literature, the applications of ICT to conservation of the cultural heritage of European Jews, and gender, literature and the holocaust.

The DiGEC group is made up of an inter-disciplinary team of teachers and researchers from the fields of philology (Hebrew, French, Slav and Hispanic), computer science, archiving and documentation, translation, journalism and audio-visual communication, and law.

At a national level the group collaborates with the Holocaust and Anti-Semitism Area of Casa Sefarad-Israel (Ministry of Foreign Affairs); and at an international level with Yad Vashem (Jerusalem), the Holocaust Museum of Buenos Aires and the Centre for Research on Anti-Semitism (Berlin).
