Within the framework of this research, the group has characterised species of Orthoptera for a series of genomic parameters, they have carried out a physical mapping of several types of DNA, they have analysed the chromosome location relating to 5S rDNA and of histone H3 in many species of Orthoptera, in order to test the hypothesis that these two types of DNA go together in the most ancient groups of insects, and they have sequenced all the histone genes in L. migratoria.
