This research group was formed in 1991. It specialises in the study of the visual system using animal experimentation and on humans, both those with normal vision and those with retinal dystrophies, in particular, retinitis pigmentosa. The group is developing a web platform to improve visual perceptual capability of patients with low visual acuity.
