Within this line of research, the group focuses on the generation of novel functional foods associated with inflammatory bowel disease and for weight control and the prevention of childhood obesity

The objectives include the identification of new genetic and molecular markers involved in body weight regulation systems in humans; the discovery of new ingredients that affect weight control systems; the development of new food formulations and new technological processes; and the introduction of new strategies for the prevention of obesity through food
